Discovery Camp – for Adventurers

What is Panda Discovery Camp

This is basically a session outdoors in the fields and wooded areas around Panda.  We set up camp, have picnics, build dens, run, roll, jump in the fields, splash and paddle in the little stream, make nature bracelets – the list is endless . We go out in all weathers except high wind and really torrential rain or storms. This camp is open to our Adventurers group.

Using the outdoor environment we cover all areas of learning under the EYFS and provide lots of opportunities to develop our little Pandas:

Passionate about learning, prepared for school and a great future
A confident, communicator who can make friends and respect others
Not afraid to take risks and find new challenges
Determined and resilient
An independent little being and creative thinker

We know from research that play outdoors promotes: physical development and movement, imagination, creative thinking, playing, exploring and improves behaviour.

At Panda we support children to take ‘little risks’ – to embrace challenge, push themselves just outside their comfort zone to achieve better things and learn how to bounce back and try again.  Our Discovery Camp is a great platform to develop these skills.

Click here to read our Little Risk’s Policy and the rules we’ll teach the children to support their experience.

How do I register?

Email to register. Our Discovery camp will run in blocks to enable all children who want to, to experience the camp. Places are limited because we only take 6 children at a time.

What does my child need to wear?
Your child needs to come dressed appropriately. They need a waterproof jacket, (gloves, hat –if cold) and welly boots. Ideally waterproof trousers although this isn’t essential, as we have a stock of them, as long as they come wearing comfortable, practical trousers. Please also provide a change of clothes for them to change into if necessary.
